Stephen Courtright is an assistant professor in the Department of Management in the Mays Business School. He earned a Ph.D. in Business Administration from the University of Iowa and a B.S. in Accounting from Brigham Young University-Idaho.
Dr. Courtright's research focuses on leadership and team effectiveness, employee empowerment, and individual differences. His research is published in leading scholarly journals such as Journal of Applied Psychology and Journal of Management, and has been featured in a number of media outlets including The Wall Street Journal, Forbes, Bloomberg BusinessWeek, Yahoo! News, U.S. News & World Report, and Huffington Post.
At Mays, Dr. Courtright teaches undergraduate and graduate courses on leadership development. He has consulted for several organizations on issues related to team and leadership development. He is a member of the Academy of Management and the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology.
Prior to earning his Ph.D., Dr. Courtright worked as an accountant. Most importantly, he and his wife, Nicole, are the proud parents of three wonderful and rambunctious children.
